The Agonist - Poetry Book

$15.00

On the following pages you will be the first, outside of his immediate family, to read the work of my grandfather, Robert “Bobby” S. Gott. This is not the entirety of his work. In fact, it only scratches the surface. These pieces were the direct inspiration for my album, “The Agonist.” And if you are already familiar with the album, you will be familiar with some of the characters and turns of phrase. This book of poetry is meant to be a companion to the album, so we invite you to enjoy them together for an immersive experience.

Each chapter begins with a piece of poetry or prose from Bobby, followed by the lyrics of the corresponding song, and lastly, a writing prompt for further reflection. This prompt is meant for you to engage your own story, your own history, your own work. It is for you alone, unless of course, you choose to share it with someone.

Thank you for taking this journey with us and I hope that as you find your way through, you will also find parts of yourself.
